However, compiling my source code seems impossible, attempts only result in the message "command not found" on the screen. Info gcc results in the same message. There exists a branch in the directory tree: /usr/lib/gcc/i586-mandrake-gnu/3.4.1/cc1 where cc1 is en executable file which does something, although not compiling. The directory gcc contains nothing but the subdirectory i586-mandrake-gnu and my guess is, that the directory 3.4.1 has something to do with version 3.4.1 of gcc. Can anybody tell me, why my attempts to compile are such a failure?
