Hello guys,

Sorry for disturbing you.

I am trying to compile GCC version 11.2 on an x86_64 running Debian 
10.4. There is a working version of GCC (8. something) running on the 
machine.

Sorry but I am very confused by your installation instructions.

I did the following:

1)  download GCC 11.2, unpack it, create in the /home directory a 
directory called objdir, changed to that; then:

2) /home/lz/gcc-11.2.0/configure --prefix=/home/lz/gcc11 --enable-multilib

at the end of the process says:

configure: WARNING: cannot check for properly working vsnprintf when 
cross compiling, will assume it's ok

Links are now set up to build a native compiler for x86_64-pc-linux-gnu.

3) If I try to say make install, it responds:
