HP does not have a 64 bit option within gcc.  In order to compile a 64 bit 
object, you must have a separate 64 bit version of gcc that was built by a 64 
bit compiler.  The information you need should be at

Please note that this is an old bookmark and may have changed since I got it.
However, a search on that site should pick up what is available.

When I last looked at that site, it had both source and binary.

Note that the 64 bit gcc CANNOT build a 32 bit object.  Thus you must always 
have two versions of gcc installed.  The 64 bit version of gcc also includes a 
64 bit version of binutils.
