hi,
I am trying to rebuild the libstdc++-2.8.1.1 and the gcc compiler at
the same time,
as suggested by the INSTALL file with libstdc++-2.8.1.1. I followed
these steps.

1. untar the libstdc++-2.8.1.1
2. cd to this directory
3. untar into this directory the gcc-3.3.2, and rename it (mv) as gcc
4. mkdir obj
5. cd obj
6. ../configure --prefix=/usr/local
The above seems to work fine
7. I then attempt 'make bootstrap'. I get an error in the first file
being compiled (I think). The file is:
      ../../libiberty/dummy.c with these errors:
     In file included from dummy.c
../../libiberty/functions.def :38: error: too few arguments to
function 'strstr'
../../libiberty/functions.def :45: error: too few arguments to
function 'vprintf'
../../libiberty/functions.def :46: error: too few arguments to
function 'vsprintf'

Does anyone can help me understand what is wrong on this system? Is this
some environment not set right, or the OS has not been installed correctly?

advance thanx for help
