I would like to understand how GCC implements its position independent 
executable feature.  I'd also like to know if any performance benchmarks have 
been run for a comparison with non-PIEs.  If such information is already 
available online I'd be grateful if someone could point me in the general 
direction; my previous searches have only turned up the usage details and a 
high-level description of what it does.
