So gcc needs an existing ISO C90 compiler? Which should I use, and
where should I get it. I am running Red Hat EL 4. I'm running in
circles trying to install a few things, because they all depend on
each other. Any help would be appreciated
Thanks,
Max
(PS, I have the gcc source, but cannot install it. I have no existing
c compiler installed. I do not have gcc on my system installation
disks.)

The gcc which comes in the development tools option of your Red Hat is
the most obvious choice for building gcc.
