Hi

i am getting following errors while compiling the gcc-3.4.0.
I have set the CC=/usr/ucb/cc but even then it giving the same error.
Please answer as soon as possible.

checking host system type... sparc-sun-solaris2.9
checking target system type... sparc-sun-solaris2.9
checking build system type... sparc-sun-solaris2.9
checking for a BSD compatible install... ./install-sh -c
/usr/ucb/cc:  language optional software package not installed
*** The command '/usr/ucb/cc -o conftest -g   conftest.c' failed.
** You must set the environment variable CC to a working compiler.

which shell are you using , does your cc command work after setting
the env variable

Hi,

cc/CC are not installed by default on solaris, I think you need first to 
install sunstudio to be able to compile gcc (if needed) then.
