Hi,
we installed gcc3.3.2 on Solaris 5.9 . We are getting bizarre
problems
with segmentation violation in the "new" operator. These problems appear
when running standalone, and when running with "Insure". Insure shows us
a stack
that goes straight into "malloc". Can anyone point me to what the
problem might be here?
I have never seen anything like this before. Are we having some problems
with badly
installed libraries?

thank you,
regards,
mirek fatyga

Hi Mirek,

I've only ***heard*** of that kind of problem if you use GCC that was built
on some other Solaris machine and used on a different Solaris machine.

Try re-building GCC 3.3.2 on your Solaris 9 (SunOS 5.9) machine.

HTH,
