According to the info pages that come with gcc.2.95.1 it supports
the sparc64 CPU. Has anyone succeeeded to build gcc on sparc64-sun-solaris2.7?

Ähm, do you mean sparc64 or sparcv9 ?
sparcv9 are Sun's UltraSPARC CPUs, sparc64 are a sparc-64-bit from another vendor
(not Sun).
GCC 2.95.1 sparcv9 works for simple applications, but more complex applications
are not compiled properly yet.
