Subject: alignment problems with gglobal variables ,GCC for arc
Date: Thu, 07 Feb 2008 20:15:00 -0000 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <BLU133-W1268AB50F5CB25B976C3E1C32E0@phx.gbl> (raw)
Hi,
I am trying to link with gcc for ARC.
I get linker error for every global variable that is not 32 bit long or 32 bit aligned.
The linker error is "Error: Overflow detected in relocation value; Relocation value should be between 255 and -256 whereas it 268"
(Absolutely meaningless)
Once I redefine globals to be 32 bit long everything links fine.
Has anyone come accross this problem ?
Is there any compiler/linker option to overcome the problem?
Thanks
Mike
