I think it would be nice if libstdc++.so.6 had a --version option, much like
libc.so.6 has.  Because I was reading this

https://stackoverflow.com/questions/10354636/how-do-you-find-what-version-of-libstdc-library-is-installed-on-your-linux-mac

and it seems to be a little bit convoluted to find the libstdc++.so.6
version.

Thoughts?

As my SO answer says, the version of libstdc++ probably isn't what you
want to know.

Why do you want to know the version of libstdc++.so.6 rather than the
version of GCC?
