Ok - I just downloaded the source but my Solaris dist seems to need an underlying C compiler to make this work - any suggestions?  Solaris no longer has a basic C compiler in the distributions we get.

You need to contact the people who distributed the binary and ask
    them. The GCC team only distributes sources.
