Think you! Solaris 8 includes a cc binary, but the binary does nothing but give the message you described. However the free software CD that comes with Solaris 8 comes with gcc 2.95.something, which is sufficient to compile gcc 3.1. If you have that installed it will be /opt/sfw/gcc. -- Elliott
