Hi !

I am trying to install the 2.95.2 version of gcc in a Sun-Sparc running
Solaris 2.7. I am not the system administrator so I tried to install gcc
in a subdirectory whithin my home subdirectory (by using the
--prefix=,.... option). I did use separate subdirectories for the object
and source subdirectories as suggested. The configuration script executes
well without any errors. However when I try to build the compiler runtime
libraries from the source subdirectory (using "make bootstrap") I end up
getting the following error message:

make[1]: ar: Command not found
make[1]: *** [libiberty.a] Error 127
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/yanezm/My_g++/libiberty'

make: *** [all-libiberty] Error 2

After executing "make install" I eventually receive the following message:

make[1]: *** [cccp] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/yanezm/My_g++/gcc'
make: *** [install-gcc] Error 2

How can I know what do those error messages mean ? or even more important,
how can I fix them ? I shall sincerely appreciate if you can point
me in the right direction.

                                        Cheers from Canada !
