Is there a planned date for the next (first) stable release of version
4.2? http://gcc.gnu.org/develop.html seems to be outdated...

We hope to start the release branch soon. But we hate to make
statements about release dates, since they often turn out to be
incorrect.
You can generally find the most up-to-date information under "Status"
on http://gcc.gnu.org/.
