Does anyone know the right way to tweak the
configure process to allow glibc to (at least try to) compile using
gcc-3.0??
I've tried adding "*3.0*" to what appears to be the
list of acceptable gcc versions, but this did not work.
Any help will be appreciated.

Wrong mailing list. This is about GCC. You should ask this question
in some glibc-related mailing list.
