Solaris GCC binary tarball

Hi guys - just downloaded the 'gcc-3.3-sol8-sparc-local.gz' file - how do I do about installing it?  I tried to run it like an executable and got a number of errors.  Also is there a way to make it install to /usr/local/bin??  The error:

You need to contact the people who distributed the binary and ask
    them. The GCC team only distributes sources.

I hear www.sunfreeware.com is reccomended a lot. (If that's where you
    got the binary you already had, they thave a faq:
    http://www.sunfreeware.com/faq.html)

Ok - I just downloaded the source but my Solaris dist seems to need an underlying C compiler to make this work - any suggestions?  Solaris no longer has a basic C compiler in the distributions we get.
