I'm wrong. Somehow cvs seems to have downloaded an inconsistent source tree at my end. The patch entry was in the ChangeLog but expmed.c was not patched. Looking at this test on a hppa-linux build that started a little later, the test now passes at -O2 and -Os. Sorry for the confusion, Dave -- J.
