Adding guards for all possible functions with the same API/ABI seems expensive (I might misunderstand the idea). My patch adds a maximum of 1 test per call site. What I do is looking which addresses are assigned to the function pointer. If there is more than one assigned function, I drop the function pointer from the list of candidates.
