After running configure(i dont know why configure has to be run from one level up) when i run make it generates a fatal error

 Are you using GNU make?
 With the current libjava you must use GNU make.

    Havn't heard back from reporter. I suspect that GNU make
    was not being used. GNU make is required to compile libgcj.
