checking for thread model used by GCC... single
checking for exception model to use... configure: error: unable to detect exception model
make: *** [configure-target-libstdc++-v3]

Configure and build as follows:

../gcc/configure --target=${1} \
     --with-gnu-as --with-gnu-ld --with-newlib --verbose \
    --prefix=/opt/gnucross '--enable-languages=c,c++' && make
