I tried with the 3.0.1 release: $ g++ -v Reading specs from /opt/gcc/lib/gcc-lib/sparc-sun-solaris2.7/3.0.1/specs Configured with: ../configure --prefix=/opt/gcc --enable-langauges=c++,java --with-as=/opt/gnu/bin/as --with-ld=/opt/gnu/bin/ld --with-gnu-as --with-gnu-ld Thread model: posix gcc version 3.0.1 $ g++ -O2 eh.cc -o eh $ ./eh enter: 1 Segmentation Fault(coredump) This seems to be only a problem on SPARC.
