 Hello again,
 
 I finally found the reason for the problems in auto-host.h:
 Due to a misconfiguration of the system I'm working on, the wrong
 preprocessor was used ("/lib/cpp" instead of "cc -E"). This is now
 fixed. With "configure" now choosing the right preprocessor I got a
 clean bootstrap.
 
 Hence the PR can be closed, I guess.
