On mainline IMHO it should be fixed the hard way, ie. apply the patch to fix store motion checks and then work out how to fix all store motion bugs. This is not possible for the branch, since when sm basically never worked in 3.1 development cycle, it would be actually a completely new feature coming in hard feature freeze. Jakub
