The ICE occurs since gcc 3.0 and is still present in the 3.2 branch and mainline. gcc 2.95.x does a little better: It issues the following error message: 2.cc:2: `U<T>' does not have a nested type named `G' 2.cc:2: template class without a name 2.cc:2: template class without a name 2.cc:2: confused by earlier errors, bailing out http://gcc.gnu.org/cgi-bin/gnatsweb.pl?cmd=view%20audit-trail&database=gcc&pr=8522
