Date: Sun, 24 Nov 2002 10:59:00 -0000	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <20021118223909.17647.qmail@sources.redhat.com> (raw)

Synopsis: Internal compiler error in fixup_var_refs_1, at function.c:1966

State-Changed-From-To: open->analyzed
State-Changed-By: bangerth
State-Changed-When: Mon Nov 18 14:39:08 2002
State-Changed-Why:
    Confirmed. A reduced testcase is this:
    ------------------------------------
    void foo (unsigned int *buf0, int dstW) {
      const int yalpha1=0;
      asm volatile("xorl %%eax, %%eax"
                   : :
                   "r" (buf0),
                   "r" (buf0),
                   "r" (buf0),
                   "r" (buf0),
                   "r" (buf0),
                   "m" (dstW),
                   "m" (yalpha1),
                   "m" (dstW)
                   : "%eax");
    }
    -------------------------------------
    I get:

    tmp/g> /home/bangerth/bin/gcc-3.3x-pre/bin/c++ -fPIC -c y.cc
    y.cc: In function `void foo(unsigned int*, int)':
    y.cc:14: internal compiler error: in instantiate_virtual_regs_1, at function.c:
       3936
    Please submit a full bug report,
    with preprocessed source if appropriate.
    See <URL:http://www.gnu.org/software/gcc/bugs.html> for instructions.

    and with different flags:

    tmp/g> /home/bangerth/bin/gcc-3.3x-pre/bin/c++ -O1 -fPIC -c y.cc
    y.cc: In function `void foo(unsigned int*, int)':
    y.cc:14: internal compiler error: in fixup_var_refs_1, at function.c:1938
    Please submit a full bug report,
    with preprocessed source if appropriate.
    See <URL:http://www.gnu.org/software/gcc/bugs.html> for instructions.

    So there may be two bugs.

    W.
