If someone wants to try backporting this to 3.3 or 3.2: the patch appeared
in this timeframe
test/x> ../../bin/gcc-2002-12-25/bin/c++ -c 10016.cc
test/x> ../../bin/gcc-2003-01-05/bin/c++ -c 10016.cc
10016.cc: In member function `int B::f()':
10016.cc:5: error: `int A::foo' is private
10016.cc:11: error: within this context
That's also the timeframe in which the new parser was merged, but it might
also be unrelated.
W.
