    Peter, the testcase in this PR doesn't compile any more
    with 3.3 or 3.4. Could you retry whether the problem still
    holds and if so, send (or directly) attach preprocessed
    sources generated with 3.3/3.4?
    
    Apart from that, with 3.2.3 I can compile the testcase in
    a little over 20 seconds on my laptop, so maybe the
    problem is gone for good...
