 Please be advised that this problem (preprocessor/10715) is due to the fact that gcc 3.2.3 was built
 under Solaris 2.6 and the problem occurred while running under Solaris 8.

 Rebuilding gcc 3.2.3 under Solaris 8 and running it there worked.
