   I just came across the same problem as described in the PR

 on another platform, namely
 
 gcc -v
 Reading specs from /usr/local/lib/gcc-lib/powerpc-ibm-aix4.3.3.0/3.2.3/specs
 Configured with: ./configure
 Thread model: aix
 gcc version 3.2.3
 
 So, I'd guess the bug might be present on all platforms which don't support
 weak symbols.
