A properly compiled compilers with target set as your platform
(packages binutils and gcc), optional standard library (an alternative 
for RTEMS is cygnus newlib), optional gnu make and some other utilities.

Also to test your first few crosses an 68332 emulator would come
in very handy.

I am a rookie in embedded systems also and am doing my Bs.c. on compiling 
and using RTEMS using linux+gnu tools. My platform is M68000 and I will need
to port BSP. If there are other RTEMS beginners with similar problems I would like 
to form a kind of community that could share the experience as work is in progress.
Thus if any of you people is interested please write me.
