You have added a declaration of loop_unroll_number to loop.h , yet I can't
any use of it in a .c file, nor any mantion in a ChangeLog entry.
Is this for future additions, or is it some junk left over from
previous development?

Hmmm, this must have sneaked in as part of my loop optimisation
reforms.  This is required for the low overhead looping support that
Jeff Law and David Edelsohn have been evaluating.
