Hi,

I tried downloading egcs-g++-971031.tar.gz earlier in the day and had no
success in installing it because there was no obvious configure file and it
wasn't clear to me whether all the necessary files to do a build were in there.
I had more luck with egcs-971031.tar.gz which had a configure script and a
top-level README telling how to use it. So as to minimize my rebuilding in the
future, I'd like to switch to g++ only if that's possible.

Forgive me for a couple of clueless questions, but

--Can I build g++ from the g++ only download?
--If so, how do I do it?

Thanks,
Andrew Borthwick
