I just compiled my Linux kernel 2.0.33 with egcs-1.0.1 configured for
i586-linux-gnulibc1. As far as I can see everything works as before!
I used the following flags for kernel compilation in addition to the
normal ones and raised -O2 to -O6:
-O6 -funroll-all-loops -march=pentium -mcpu=pentium -malign-loops=0
-malign-jumps=0 -malign-functions=0
