Subject: egcs installed on p5, failed on eb66
Date: Mon, 09 Feb 1998 03:39:00 -0000	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <199802091204.NAA23589@vbormc.vbo.dec.com> (raw)

As per request, short mail message:

Installed ok on Digital Celebris 590 running redhat linux 4.0 (Colgate).
output of config.guess i586-pc-linux-gnulibc1

Having problems on Digital Alpha EB66 running redhat linux 3.0.3 (Picasso),
output of config.guess alpha-unknown-linux-gnu

Seems to get as far as trying to assemble something and then get things like:

gcc -DIN_GCC -g -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -o g77 g77.o g77spec.o version.o \
  choose-temp.o pexecute.o obstack.o
./xgcc -B./ -DIN_GCC -g -I./include -DNO_MEM -DNO_LONG_DOUBLE_IO -O0 -I.
 -c ../../egcs-1.0.1/gcc/enquire.c
/tmp/cca29755.s: Assembler messages:
/tmp/cca29755.s:2: Error: Unknown pseudo-op: `.version'
/tmp/cca29755.s:184: Warning: .type pseudo-op used outside of .def/.endef; ignor
also:
/tmp/cca29755.s:209: Error: Unknown pseudo-op: `.section'
and lots similar.
