The page you mention says "All code will continue to be assigned to the FSF exactly as before and will be made available to the gcc2 maintainers for ultimate inclusion into the gcc2 tree." and that is true; furthermore many patches first developed in egcs are already in gcc2. > When will egcs be merged with gcc? There have been proposals as to how gcc and egcs can work together, and there are some discussions going on. Right now the answer is "we don't know yet".
