Hello:

I've ported gcc-2.8.1 to IBM's OS/390 OpenEdition and David Edelsohn
at IBM said that I should talk to you about incorporating the changes
into the base. IBM's OpenEdition is a POSIX compiliant environment, much
like UNIX, that runs on OS/390 systems. The compiler currently is
missing a few things; but, it does compile and run in the OE environment.

Please feel free to contact me of this is of interest.

Yes, it is of interest. You can grab an egcs snapshot from
http://egcs.cygnus.com , and then integrate your changes into it, test
it out (via make check and dejagnu), and send in your work for
inclusion. GNU diff -p -c with ChangeLog comments are the preferred
form.

You will need to be able to assign copyright to the FSF for the work.
If you can't, then you will have to have the authors of the code do
this.

Look forward to seeing the work.
