Is it possible to build egcs-1.1 as a cross from i686-pc-linux-gnu to
gnu-win32?

In theory, yes. In practice, might be difficult. Having said that, never
tried it ;o) Why would one want to when there's Linux?
I might try it someday when I have more disk space to install Win95.
Whilst we're on the subject. how about porting glibc2 to Win95 for the
GNU-Win32 environment? Then we could have a GNU Winux. ;o) Just rambling
on, just ignore me or something.
Cheers,
Alex.

Sure. That's how I build the gnu-win32 binaries that I distribute. Search
the gnu-win32 mailing list for my recipe (posted end of April, 1998). Go
to http://www.cygnus.com/ml/gnu-win32/1998-Apr/ and search for
"gcc and cross-compilers"
Regards,
Mumit

Yes, I do it every time a new snapshot is compiled here.

Isn't that basically what Mumit Khan has been advocating?
