No shit.  Be a software engineer and engineer.  Have gcc-x.y/configure do
what ever way you want of including <sys/param.h> and testing for "BSD".
Then have it spit out "__44BSD_INSIDE", and have whatever later script do
or extract what ever Zack may want to do.

IMHO, you are not being helpful in this discussion, and since you
probably know more about non-BSD hosts than BSD hosts why are you
speaking out here??
