Can't open the file gcc.ps.gz using gunzip.

When I try to open the file gcc.ps.gz using gunzip, the error information reported is that : gcc.ps.gz: not in gzip format.  What is reason? What format of gcc.ps.gz is ?

Quite some web browsers automaticaly gunzip gzip'ed files and leave the
extension intact. Just rename gcc.ps.gz to gcc.ps and try to open it
with ghostview.
