Geoff, does this mean that the build machine has an out of date
automake?  Meanwhile, I'll revert the -MD removal from cpp0.

Nope, it means libjava still uses an outdated automake.

The tester has whatever automake comes with Red Hat Linux 7, but it
should never be used, because it uses 'gcc_update --touch'.
