I successfully built, tested and installed gcc 3.2.2 on the following:


HP-UX ice B.11.11 U 9000/770 ice unlimited-user license

gcc -v
Reading specs from /home/urban/local/hp11/lib/gcc-lib/hppa1.1-hp-hpux11.11/3.2/specs
Configured with: ../gcc/configure --prefix=/home/urban/local/hp11 --with-gnu-as --with-as=/home/urban/local/hp11/bin/gas --with-ld=/usr/ccs/bin/ld --with-gc=page --with-libiconv-prefix=/home/urban/local/hp11
Thread model: single
gcc version 3.2

gas -v
GNU assembler version 2.13.2.1 (hppa1.1-hp-hpux11.11) using BFD version 2.13.2.1

runtest --version 
WARNING: Couldn't find the global config file.
Expect version is       5.32.2
Tcl version is          8.3
Framework version is    1.4.3

config.guess
hppa1.1-hp-hpux11.11

Oops... I included the file to show what was used to build gcc 3.2.2. Here is 
the correct output from the installed compiler.

Configured with: ../gcc/configure --prefix=/home/urban/local/hp11 --with-gnu-as

--with-gc=page --with-libiconv-prefix=/home/urban/local/hp11
Thread model: single
gcc version 3.2.2
