Hi,
This mail is not to related to any gcc stuff but the gcc-mail list server. It
seems the mail server with IP 66.187.233.205 does not have any PTR record and
so I always get a reject warning in my postfix (the reverse DNS search does
not work). I had to change the 'reject' by 'reject warning' in my conf file.
Here is an example of conection log from the mail-list server:
Mar 25 20:40:24 mozart postfix/smtpd[1041]: D89F8E448: reject_warning: RCPT
from unknown[66.187.233.205]: 450 Client host rejected: cannot find your
hostname, [66.187.233.205];
from=<gcc-return-70977-gbv=oxixares.com@gcc.gnu.org> to=<gbv@oxixares.com>
proto=SMTP helo=<sources.redhat.com>
This problem is present since many weeks ago.
Guillermo.

Reverse lookup of the IP address works for me:

Ooops! , it works for me too . My fault :-( . I revised my configuration, the
problem derived from a wrong line in my '/etc/hosts' file. Since I fixed it
the mail client is correctly identified:
Mar 25 22:09:23 mozart postfix/smtpd[1367]: connect from
sources.redhat.com[66.187.233.205]
Mar 25 22:09:23 mozart postfix/smtpd[1367]: A42E2DB3C:
client=sources.redhat.com[66.187.233.205]
Guillermo.
