I just imported & checked in a merge from the latest gcc2 snapshot
(980502).

Aside for the massive (and mostly useless) changes to the mips
target files the merge was trivial.   I don't expect any major
problems, except possibly in the mips ports -- which I'll be
testing over the next few days.

Depending on what kind of schedule the steering committee wants
for egcs-1.1 this may (or may not) be the last merge from gcc2
for a while.
