Why don't they merge each new feature in as they get it finished, instead
of making everyone wait until they can get their Webcams set up and have a
ribbon-cutting ceremony in live video streaming? :P

As for the URL, I found the mailing list address there and (because I can
potentially help out) sent a subscribe request, but the list server failed
to respond in any way whatsoever. All I did was put "subscribe Paul
Derbyshire" in the subject and in the first line of the body (since list
servers vary a great deal and sometimes expect a command in the subject,
sometimes in the body). There should have been SOME response, even if only
a bounce of some kind or a list server error message.

As near as I can tell, I've either
1. Been silently subscribed to a low volume mailing list, with no
welcome message, and where even the submit addresses and ways to
filter the messages to their own folder will have to wait until I
actually receive a posting through it, or else
2. Something was wrong with my request and the list server error
message bounced or otherwise failed to get through, which is
highly improbable since as always I used valid From: and Reply-To:
   addresses, no munging, or else
3. The list server has a bug, or else
4. The list server is down.

Does anyone have any information about which of these is the case? I need
to know to tailor my course of action; 1 invovles waiting and seeing, 2
involves cajoling list server syntax information out of somebody, and 3 and
4 involve the list server's Someone In Charge being notified about the
error so they can Fix It and possibly resubmitting the subscription request.

Note: I have allowed adequate time for a response to be generated and
received, namely over 4 hours. Since I don't live in Upper Moldovia or
anywhere similarly exotic, that should be plenty of time to receive either
a response or a 4-hour-warning bounce if Something Went Wrong.
