Hi,

What is the tag name for the 3.1 snapshots? It's not listed with the other
ones in http://gcc.gnu.org/cvs.html .

BTW, does the current 3.1 work on MacOS X? If not, there's no reason to
answer my first question.

GCC 3.1 hasn't branched yet, so you want the head of the CVS tree
(aka mainline).

I'm not much into CVS but, since 3.1 is the mainline, no -r option is
necessary.
Alternatively you may download tar balls of the 3.1 snapshots from:

    http://www.netwinder.org/build/gcc.html

(as I usually do)

Accordind to the mantainer of the port it will when will be released
