Hi
I have one query..I compiled my programs with gcc compiler version 2.8.1
and 2.95.2 and got two binary files,showing following lines in binary
files..
Binary File compiled with GCC version of 2.8.1
GCC: (GNU) 2.8.1 as :WorkShop Compilers 5.0 98/12/21
GCC: (GNU) 2.7-96q3 as: SC4.2 dev 30 Nov 1995
GCC: (GNU) 2.95.2 19991024 (release) as: WorkShop Compilers 5.0 Alpha
03/27/98 Build
GCC: (GNU) 2.8.1 as: WorkShop Compilers 4.2 dev 13 May 1996
Binary File compiled with GCC version of 2.95.2
GCC: (GNU) 2.9-gnupro-98r2 as: WorkShop Compilers 4.X dev 18 Sep 1996
GCC: (GNU) 2.7-96q3 as: SC4.2 dev 30 Nov 1995

Could you please explain me the significnce or the information given by
this about the version of GCC used..Can we know the version of GCC being
used in compilation thru these binary file..
