Hi everyone,
I understand that there is an upgrade in the making and perhaps I should
just wait...
Anyway, Stephane Carrez confirmed privately that today he could
successfully commit whereas, since yesterday, I'm not able to access the
repository at all...
I have been using a very simple setup, no ssh-agent, no scripts, and,
for instance, a plain 'cvs -z9 update' ended up asking my password and
then proceeded normally. Now:
paolo:~/Gcc/cvs-dirs/Sandbox-head> cvs -z9 update
Permission denied.
cvs [update aborted]: end of file from server (consult above messages if
any)
I have also tried using ssh-agent, as suggested (thanks!) by Stephane,
but I keep obtaining the very same error...
Thanks in advance for any help,
Paolo.

This probably means you still got the old IP address cached
somewhere. gcc.gnu.org has address 66.187.233.205 now.

Upgrade is over, but you'll still be waiting...

...because your DNS server is probably still caching the old IP address.
Same thing happened to me, and I got the same error message.
The new address is 66.187.233.205. If gcc.gnu.org resolves to that address
for you, and you still have errors, then it's some other problem. :-)

Thanks Phil for your feedback.
Indeed, now everything works fine for me, or better said, works much faster
than before!
Ciao,
Paolo.
