I am currently trying to build an x86 cross for the ARC/Argonaut
platform. I have been through the mail archives and a number of the
issues I am encountering seem to have been encountered by others, but
most of the threads seem to be dead-ended.

Also there are a couple of patches posted up(in mail) that might be of
use to me, but they don't seem to have ever made it into the code base
and I did see that the former maintainer has resigned.

Since I haven't been a member of this list in long time, could somebody
point me to where I could get the current status of gcc for the
ARC/Argonaut platform and possibly who the current maintainer is?

Thank In Advance,

Rich d

The former ARC binutils maintainer (Peter Targett) resigned, yes.
According to the MAINTAINERS file for GCC, the maintainer is:

arc port Richard Kenner kenner at nyu.edu

As another data point, the ARC port was recently obsoleted (or perhaps
deleted outright) from GDB.

It was on a prior version of the obsoletion list. The person who
started this thread is, as I understand it, volunteering to maintain
the port.

In that case, would you mind just removing the above line from the
MAINTAINERS file?

Zack, doesn't this smell like obsoletion fodder?

I would like to resign as the maintainer of that port too. I did a
lot of work on that port a while ago and company using that chip
debugged it, but never had a chance to feed those fixes back, despite
both my an Argonaut urging them to do that. So, as far as I know, no
sources correspond to a reasonable version for that chip.
