Hi,

i just built  GCC 3.4.0  on AIX 5.1 using the following commands:
	../gcc-3.4.0/configure
	make bootstrap-lean
	make install
$ config.guess
powerpc-ibm-aix5.1.0.0
$ gcc -v
Reading specs from /usr/local/lib/gcc/powerpc-ibm-aix5.1.0.0/3.4.0/specs
Configured with: ../gcc-3.4.0/configure
Thread model: aix
gcc version 3.4.0
The system is an IBM pSeries 615 with AIX 5.1 at the latest patchlevel.
The system c-complier is VAC 6.0.0.7
Make is  gnu-make 3.80
